We believe that children must be given opportunities to learn and grow in a conducive environment, filled with love, care and attention. The children are active participants in developmentally appropriate planned activities, have ample hands-on experiences, engage in purposeful play, and enjoy a strong home-school partnership. We want to develop lifelong learners, where the children have a positive attitude towards school and future learning.
ZION BISHAN BIBLE-PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH 2012
History
Zion Bishan Kindercare Ltd (ZBK), formerly known as Zion Bishan Kindergarten, has been serving young children and their families since 1995. Located within the premises of Zion Bishan Bible-Presbyterian Church, the Centre operates as one of the church’s home missions, providing a Christ-centered environment for early childhood care and education. ZBK serves families residing in Bishan and the surrounding neighbourhoods, partnering with parents to support the children’s growth and development.
In March 2015, the Centre moved into the newly renovated church premises, where it occupies the second-floor space. The facilities include fully air-conditioned classrooms and a dedicated indoor playground, creating a safe and conducive environment for learning.
To better respond to the evolving needs of families, particularly considering changing demographics and lower enrolment, ZBK transitioned from a 4-hour kindergarten model to a full-day childcare programme in January 2023. This marked a significant milestone in the history of the Centre. This change ensures the sustainability and continuity of the Centre’s ministry, while opening greater opportunities for holistic learning and development for the children, as well as growth for staff and the wider church community.
The vision of the Centre remains steadfast in nurturing every ZBK child to grow holistically. Over the years, ZBK has witnessed God’s faithfulness in the lives of children, families and staff. We remain committed to seeking His guidance as we continue this work, trusting Him for many more fruitful years ahead and giving all glory and praise to God.

Established since 1995, Zion Bishan Kindercare (ZBK), formerly known as Zion Bishan Kindergarten, is a place where we envision to nurture every child to grow in wisdom, stature and in favour with God and man. We believe that every child is unique, special and a gift from God. Our mission is to develop in each child a zest for life and learning, and a love for God, others and self in our nurturing and loving environment.
At ZBK, we aim to provide high-quality programme to meet the needs of each child by fostering his/her overall development in terms of his/her spiritual, physical, intellectual, social growth and personal self-esteem. We believe that this can be accomplished through purposeful play, hands-on experiences, developmentally appropriate teaching strategies and an active home-school partnership.
Together with a team of dedicated and nurturing teachers, we offer a rich and holistic curriculum which also reflects the Christian values based on God and the Bible. At ZBK, we adopt a thematic and integrated approach to learning to support the holistic development of the children. Our curriculum and programmes are based on the six learning areas outlined under MOE’s “Nurturing Early Learners” (NEL) Framework, i.e. Aesthetics & Creative Expression; Discovery of the World; Language & Literacy; Motor Skills Development; Numeracy; Social & Emotional Development.
We want to develop lifelong learners, where the children have a positive attitude towards learning. We will continue to make every child’s learning journey with us a meaningful and memorable one and help them blossom and grow as confident individuals reaching their full potential.
